The extras casting director for the Touchstone Pictures / DreamWorks Studios feature film ‘Real Steel’ is holding an open casting call for people interested in working on the movie as background actors. Shooting begins in mid-June and the production is looking to hire thousands of Detroit locals to work as extras on the film.

Universal Pictures has bought the rights to ‘Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment’, based on the best-selling young adult novel series by James Patterson. Columbia Pictures has put the film into turnaround. Catherine Hardwicke is still directing the film and will hire a casting director when the new screenplay final draft is complete.

Stephenie Meyer’s ‘The Host’ is now officially in pre-production. The casting process and auditions are ready to begin, with filming set to start in early 2011. The Academy Award winning director Andrew Niccol will helm the film, and the producers are Nick Wechsler, Steve Schwartz, Paula Mae Schwartz.

Auditions are getting underway and there will be numerous roles for teens as well as teachers and parents.
The Warner Bros. feature film ‘Something Borrowed’ is currently seeking photo doubles for the films stars Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin. Numerous extras are also needed. The film is being produced by Hilary Swank and shooting is taking place through June 25th in The Hamptons, New York.
