The sequel to the 2010 action film “Machete” titled “Machete Kills” is set to go before the cameras on June 14, 2012 in Austin, Texas. The film’s casting directors are auditioning actors for co-starring and supporting roles in Los Angeles, and additional casting will take place in Austin. The extras casting director is holding an open casting call for all types of people to work as paid general background performers on the film.

It’s a Laugh Productions and Disney Channel are set to begin production on a brand new comedy series called “Dog with a Blog”. Disney Channel, the leading TV network for kids and families, ordered the first season after the pilot episode was shot earlier this year. The casting director is now holding auditions for guest starring, recurring, and day player roles. Extras will be hired beginning on June 13, 2012 when the live-action multicamera series begins shooting at Hollywood Center Studios.

Showtime Networks and Teakwood Lane Productions are now in production on the second season of the hit Golden Globe Award winning drama/thriller series “Homeland” in Charlotte, North Carolina. Auditions for series regulars, recurring roles, and guest stars takes place in New York. Additional principal actor roles and all of the extras are cast in North Carolina. The extras casting director needs all types and also a wide variety of ethnic types, both males and females of any age.

The second film in a super-popular trilogy, “Artemis 2″, is gearing up for pre-production and casting will soon be underway in Los Angeles for new co-starring and supporting roles. The day players, extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins will be hired in the Wilmington, North Carolina area as the beginning of filming approaches. The studio is fast tracking this project because Jennifer Lawrence has a contract commitment with 20th Century Fox for a sequel to “X-Men: First Class” which starts shooting in January 2013. Filming on “Artemis 2″ will begin in August, 2012. “Artemis” took 4-1/2 months to complete principal photography.

DreamWorks Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox are in pre-production on the feature film “Robopocalypse”, based on the New York Times best selling science fiction novel of the same name by Daniel H. Wilson. Principal actor casting is taking place in Los Angeles, and additional casting will take place in Montreal, Canada where shooting will take place beginning in July, 2012. All of the film’s extras, stand-ins, and photo-doubles will be hired in Canada.

The HBO series “Game of Thrones“, based on the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of books by George R.R. Martin, has begun casting actors and registering extras for the third season. The Medieval fantasy drama serial will not be holding any open casting calls for extras but are accepting registration from new talent through online submissions. Principal actors are being cast in London, while the background actors are hired in Northern Ireland. Some smaller speaking roles are also cast in Ireland.

It’s that time of year again for Disney Channel and Disney XD to hold the first official open casting call of 2012, this one in Kansas City, Missouri. Casting directors are seeking boys and girls between the ages of 10 – 18 (or who look like they are 10 – 18) and are interested in acting, dancing, or singing. The purpose of these open casting calls is to discover talented young actors to be considered for upcoming original movies and series produced for Disney Channel and Disney XD.

The next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Thor 2″ is now in pre-production and the casting director in Los Angeles is getting ready to audition talent for new co-starring and supporting roles. The bulk of filming will take place in London, England with some additional filming in Los Angeles. There will also be auditions in London for principal acting roles. Extras, photo-doubles, and stand-ins will be hired in London and various areas of the United Kingdom. Filming on “Thor 2″ will begin in August, 2012.

Extras casting calls and registration is underway for the Marvel Studios superhero feature film “Iron Man 3″, which will be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Shooting will take place in the Wilmington and Kenansville, North Carolina areas and other locations in North Carolina from May 21, 2012 through January, 2013. The film’s main stars are being cast out of Los Angeles, however many smaller and day player acting roles are being cast in North Carolina. All of the extras, photo-doubles and stand-ins for the films stars will be cast in North Carolina. An open extras casting call will take place on May 10, 2012 in Kenansville, North Carolina.

Dimension Films and The Weinstein Company‘s true crime drama feature film “Devil’s Knot” starring Academy Award winners Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth is currently casting thirteen lead roles, and numerous supporting and day player roles. The movie is based on the events surrounding the sensationalized trial of the West Memphis 3 murders and how the crime impacted the lives of those in the community. Filming begins June 25, 2012 in Louisiana.
