Lucamar Productions in association with Marc Platt Productions are currently in the pre-production phase on the highly anticipated live-action musical feature film “Into The Woods” starring Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep. The movie is an adaptation of the Tony Award winning Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. Disney Casting directors in New York and Los Angeles are auditioning actors/singers for starring and co-starring roles. Additional casting will take place in London, UK where filming will take place beginning in September, 2013. The extras, photo-doubles, and stand-ins for the film’s stars will be cast in London.

21 Laps Entertainment and The Jim Henson Company are now in the pre-production stage on the upcoming live-action Disney feature film “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” which is based on the children’s book by Judith Viorst. Disney casting executives are conducting a widespread talent search for a boy age 10-12 to play the lead role of Alexander Conners. Both SAG-AFTRA talent and non-union talent can submit via uploading an audition video to the official Disney casting authorized website for this film. Shooting will take place from August through October, 2013 in Los Angeles.

Marvel Studios, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company is in pre-production on the live-action 3D sci-fi adventure film “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Casting is underway for the main characters in the film in addition to co-starring and supporting roles, as well as voice-over actors for ADR (Additional Dialogue Recording) sessions. Casting calls have now been issued for talent in the UK to work as supporting artists, core extras, and stand-ins for the film’s starring actors. Shooting will commence in June, 2013 at Shepperton Studios and various locations around the UK.

Marvel Studios, an owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, is set to begin shooting the political-thriller superhero feature film sequel “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” in May, 2013. The locations where filming will take place are Los Angeles, North Carolina, Cleveland, and Washington DC. Disney casting directors for Marvel are auditioning actors in Los Angeles with additional casting to take place in Cleveland, North Carolina, and DC. Extras also will cast in all cities where filming is taking place. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has announced that they will release the film in theaters on April 4, 2014 in both in 2D and 3D. The working title for “Captain America: The First Avenger” was Frostbite, and the working title for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is Freezerburn.

It’s a Laugh Productions and Oops Doughnuts Productions are now in pre-production on a brand new multi-camera comedy series titled “Liv & Maddie”. The Casting Society of America Artios Award nominated Disney casting directors for the show are hiring actors for recurring, guest starring, and day player roles. The extras will be cast throughout production which begins on April 8, 2013 in Los Angeles. There will be a large number of young actors hired to play high school students, as well as adults to play teachers and parents. The show is set for a Fall, 2013 premiere on Disney Channel.

Disney has officially already approved plans for a sequel film to “Oz the Great and Powerful“. James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, and Michelle Williams are all signed on for multiple sequels. Mitchell Kapner was contracted several months ago to write the screenplay for the next film in the Oz franchise. Aside from writing the screenplay for “Oz the Great and Powerful,” Kapner wrote screenplays for the Warner Bros. Pictures feature films “The Whole Nine Yards” and “The Whole Ten Yards” both starring Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry, “Romeo Must Die” starring Jet Li, and the MGM Home Entertainment direct-to-video “Into the Blue 2: The Reef“.

Roth Films in association with Mayhem Pictures is getting ready to start production on the Walt Disney Pictures true-story live-action feature film “Million Dollar Arm,” about a sports agent who discovered baseball pitchers amongst cricket players in India by staging a reality show to discover new talent. The Primetime Emmy award winning Disney casting veteran has issued a nationwide casting call for lead roles in the film. Also being cast are supporting, and smaller speaking roles. Filming gets underway May 6, 2013 and will take place in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and in India.

Tara Rubin, casting director of many long-running Broadway shows, is seeking Equity or non-Equity singers who move well. Talent of all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to submit, and there are no fees to be considered. This is the opportunity of a lifetime, and it pays very well. “Aladdin” on Broadway will be a full-length, big song musical with big dance numbers.”

Walt Disney Pictures and Wheatfield Productions are in pre-production on an exciting new live action sci-fi feature film called “Tomorrowland”. The Disney casting directors are casting starring roles including a boy and girl who can play 10-11 years of age, and a naturally beautiful teen girl who can play 16-17 years of age. Shooting on the project will take place in Vancouver, British Columbia starting this Summer, 2013. Auditions are taking place in Los Angeles, New York, and Vancouver. All photo-doubles and stand-ins for the film’s stars will be hired in Vancouver, as well as all of the extras.

It’s a Laugh Productions and Michael Jacobs Productions are getting ready to begin shooting the new multi-camera Disney Channel series sequel “Girl Meets World”. The show will continue where the ABC television sitcom “Boy Meets World” left off back in 2000, however the story jumps ahead to the present. That series ran successfully for seven years beginning in 1993. The Casting Society of America ARTIOS Award winning Disney casting director for the show is auditioning talent for several remaining starring roles, and will also be casting guest starring and day player roles. The extras will be cast throughout production, which officially begins shooting on March 5, 2013.
