Big Kid Pictures in association with Team Downey are gearing up to begin filming on the Warner Bros. Pictures feature film “The Judge” starring Robert Downey Jr. along with an amazing all-star cast. Shooting will take place in Boston, MA and surrounding locations beginning on June 3, 2013. The local casting directors are holding two open casting calls in Massachusetts for people to work on the film as extras, and also for people who have cars and trucks to use in the movie. The open casting calls are being held in the City of Boston, and in the historic Village of Shelburne Falls.

Blondie Girl Productions in association with Salty Pictures and Hollywood Farms will begin shooting in January, 2013 on a new Disney Channel Original Movie titled “Cloud Nine”. The project is a snowboarding themed telefilm. The local Utah Disney casting directors have scheduled an open casting call for featured and general background performers in Salt Lake City. Snowboarding experience is helpful but not required. All types are needed, and there is no previous experience required to be cast. Filming will continue throughout February, 2013.

Marvel Studios is set to begin shooting the superhero feature film sequel “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on March 1, 2013. The locations where filming will take place are Los Angeles and Cleveland, Ohio. Some additional filming will take place in Washington D.C. according to Leslie Green, Senior Communications manager with the DC Film Office. Principal actor casting will take place in Los Angeles and Cleveland, with extras also being cast in both cities. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has announced that they will release the film in theaters on April 4, 2014. The working title for “Captain America: The First Avenger” was Frostbite, and the working title for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will be Freezerburn.

The independent feature film “Something Whispered” is filming around the New Haven, Connecticut area and Northeastern Connecticut from late September to mid-November, 2012. There are two open casting calls scheduled for locals to work as fully paid background performers on the shoot. The casting director in Connecticut is seeking Caucasians, African Americans or Africans at least 18 years of age and able to portray ages 18 to 60. Both SAG-AFTRA members and non union people are welcome to attend. No prior experience working as a film extra is necessary.

The Netflix political dramaHouse of Cards” is in production in the Harford County, Maryland area. The casting directors are holding an open casting call for extras in addition to recurring and featured roles. “House of Cards” is based on the BBC miniseries of the same name. That original BBC version was based on a novel from British author Michael Dobbs. Netflix has ordered 26 episodes to air over two seasons. This will be the last open casting call for the season one episodes.

The extras casting director for the third and final chapter in “The Hangover” trilogy is holding open casting calls in Nogales and Tucson, Arizona for people interested in working as paid extras on the film. Casting Director Maryellen Aviano has personally informed me of these open casting calls and the details. Arizona shooting commences in mid-October, 2012. Returning for “The Hangover Part III” are Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Mike Tyson, and Ken Jeong in an expanded role. Heather Graham will also reprise her role as Jade, as will Sasha Barrese as Tracy.

The independent comedy western film “A Night In Old Mexico” starring Academy Award winner Robert Duvall, is holding an open casting call in Texas for both speaking roles and extras. The project is also using the working title of “Skydance”. Shooting will take place in Austin, Texas as well as the Brownsville area, where the open casting call is being held. In addition to actors and extras, Stand-ins and Photo Doubles for lead actors are also needed. Children, teens, adults, and seniors are all needed. Principal photography begins on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. The film tells the story of a cranky Texas rancher who is forced to give up his land and move to a trailer park, and takes a last wild ride with his estranged grandson where both learn life lessons.

Top industry veteran casting director Bill Marinella has been contracted to cast all of the movie’s extras, and an open casting call has been scheduled in the Atlanta, GA area. The starring and co-starring roles have been cast in Los Angeles, while additional casting for smaller speaking roles will take place in Georgia.
