From the producer and director of “Pearl Harbor” and the “Transformers” films comes this new exciting new teen oriented time travel themed feature film “Almanac”. The Primetime Emmy Award nominated casting director who cast such hit films as “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” and the upcoming “The Lone Ranger” is auditioning actors for the starring and co-starring roles. The movies’ extras will be cast beginning in February, 2013 when principal photography begins. the shooting locations(s) have not yet been determined. Also, there has been no word on the film’s budget.

The ABC Family hit one-hour scripted drama “Switched at Birth” was officially renewed for a second season on August 17, 2012 and the casting director is auditioning actors for recurring, guest starring, and day player speaking roles. In addition to principal actors being cast, extras will be hired throughout the season consisting of at least 20 episodes. The series has become the number one Monday scripted cable television show in females 12-34. The series is set in Kansas City, Missouri, although it is filmed in Los Angeles. The first episode for season two begins shooting on October 22, 2012 at Santa Clarita Studios.

Auditions are underway for a brand new Disney Channel series pilot titled “Kirby Gates”. The single camera comedy will combine live-action and animation. Kids and teens from 12 – 17 years of age are being cast as series regulars, as well as adults for possible recurring roles should the series be picked up. Many kids and teens will also be hired as extras to play students and other roles. People of any ethnicity can submit, or register for extra work. The show is under SAG-AFTRA with AFTRA contract terms. Shooting will begin in November, 2012.

The extras casting director for the third and final chapter in “The Hangover” trilogy is holding open casting calls in Nogales and Tucson, Arizona for people interested in working as paid extras on the film. Casting Director Maryellen Aviano has personally informed me of these open casting calls and the details. Arizona shooting commences in mid-October, 2012. Returning for “The Hangover Part III” are Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Mike Tyson, and Ken Jeong in an expanded role. Heather Graham will also reprise her role as Jade, as will Sasha Barrese as Tracy.

Di Bonaventura Pictures in association with Heel & Toe Films are in early pre-production on the true story biopic feature film “Girls Like Us” starring Taylor Swift as Joni Mitchell. Casting calls have gone out for all of the major roles such as Carole King, Carly Simon, Gerry Goffin, James Taylor, and David Crosby. Also roles for young Carly Simon at ages 11 – 13, and young Carole King at age 11. The initial casting call consists of over 100 speaking roles, including numerous roles for kids and teens, and other notable supporting roles like John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Cat Stevens, and Henry Mancini. Filming is scheduled to begin January 13, 2012 in Los Angeles.

The head of casting for Paramount Pictures is looking for new unknown talent to fill the roles, and no experience is required to be considered.
