Kurtzman/Orci Productions and 20th Century Fox Television are prepping to begin filming the new modern–day supernatural thriller “Sleepy Hollow” based on Washington Irving‘s short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Shooting will take place in Charlotte, NC starting on March 11, 2013. Casting directors in Los Angeles, New York, and Charlotte are holding auditions for starring, guest starring, possible recurring, and day player roles. The show’s background performers are being cast by the Charlotte extras casting director. Television crew members and production staff are also being hired locally in North Carolina.

Trivision Pictures in association with Entertainment 7 and Empire Film Group are in pre-production on the comedy feature film “Army Bratz”. The casting director in Los Angeles is auditioning talent for the movie’s starring and co-starring roles. Additional casting for supporting roles will take place in Los Angeles, and in Louisiana where shooting is scheduled to begin in April, 2013. The stand-in and extras will all be cast in Louisiana closer to the start of filming.

The ABC Family hit one-hour scripted drama “Switched at Birth” was officially renewed for a second season on August 17, 2012 and the casting director is auditioning actors for recurring, guest starring, and day player speaking roles. In addition to principal actors being cast, extras will be hired throughout the season consisting of at least 20 episodes. The series has become the number one Monday scripted cable television show in females 12-34. The series is set in Kansas City, Missouri, although it is filmed in Los Angeles. The first episode for season two begins shooting on October 22, 2012 at Santa Clarita Studios.

The Netflix political dramaHouse of Cards” is in production in the Harford County, Maryland area. The casting directors are holding an open casting call for extras in addition to recurring and featured roles. “House of Cards” is based on the BBC miniseries of the same name. That original BBC version was based on a novel from British author Michael Dobbs. Netflix has ordered 26 episodes to air over two seasons. This will be the last open casting call for the season one episodes.

The independent comedy western film “A Night In Old Mexico” starring Academy Award winner Robert Duvall, is holding an open casting call in Texas for both speaking roles and extras. The project is also using the working title of “Skydance”. Shooting will take place in Austin, Texas as well as the Brownsville area, where the open casting call is being held. The new drama series “Chicago Fire” has been picked up for season one by NBC, which made the announcement in May, 2012. The show follows the lives of the firefighters and paramedics working at the Chicago Fire Department – firehouse of Engine 55, Truck 81, Squad 3, Medic 61, and Battalion 25. The show’s starring, co-starring, and guest starring roles are being cast out of New York, with additional principal actor casting in Chicago where shooting will take place. All of the stand-ins and extras will be hired in the Chicago area. The show begins production in July, 2012.
