The VP of Casting at CBS Television is accepting submissions from diverse talent, specifically actors of color, to participate in the CBS Diversity Institute and Casting program. This is an extension of CBS Diversity’s ongoing talent showcase initiatives. Talent who become candidates will be pre-screened by the casting executives at CBS, and subsequently the casting directors for “The Young and The Restless” and “The Bold and The Beautiful” will audition the actors on a regular basis for various roles on the shows.

Auditions and casting calls for new Sony Pictures Television series ‘Wild Blue’

Sony Pictures Television in association with Gran Via Productions and Nemo Films are in pre-production on a new one-hour drama series pilot titled “Wild Blue”. The show’s casting directors in Los Angeles and New York are holding auditions for series regulars, with additional auditions to take place as soon as the regulars are cast. The stand-ins and background extras will be cast throughout shooting on the series pilot episode, which begins mid-March, 2013 in Los Angeles. There will be a very large number of people hired to play Navy personnel on the show.

Cloud Ten Productions in association with Stoney Lake Entertainment and Family Screen Partners are in pre-production on the upcoming major epic action thriller feature film “Left Behind” based on the best-selling novel “Left Behind: A Novel of the Earth’s Last Days” by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. Casting is underway in Los Angeles for the film’s starring and co-starring roles. Additional principal actor roles will be cast in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where shooting will take place beginning in March, 2013. The stand-ins and photo-doubles for the film’s stars, as well as featured and general background actors, will also be cast in Baton Rouge.

Alcon Entertainment in association with 8:38 Productions and Madhouse Entertainment are currently in pre-production on the crime thriller feature film “Prisoners” for Warner Bros. Pictures. Filming will begin in January, 2013 in Conyers, GA which is twenty four miles east of Atlanta. The local casting director is holding an open casting call seeking men and women of any ethnicity, ages 18 and over, with or without experience working as a movie extra. There are also some speaking roles being cast locally. The film is scheduled to be released on September 20, 2013.

Mandate Pictures and Four Fellas Productions in association with Laurence Mark Productions and Good Universe are in production on the comedy feature film “Last Vegas”, shooting in Atlanta, GA. The local casting directors are seeking a large number of extras to work on the film in December. In addition to the extras being cast, there are also roles for featured players at a higher pay rate. Principal actor casting took place in Los Angeles, with additional speaking roles being cast in Atlanta. Filming will continue through December 22, 2012. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on December 20, 2013.

ABC Studios is getting set to begin shooting a new single-camera 1/2 hour comedy series pilot titled “Trophy Wife”. Casting directors in New York and Los Angeles are auditioning talent for a variety of roles, including series regulars, co-starring, guest starring, possible recurring, and day player roles. In addition to the principal actor roles being cast, many extras will be hired throughout the shoot which will take place beginning December 3rd in Los Angeles. There are speaking and non-speaking roles for teens and adults.

From the producer and director of “Pearl Harbor” and the “Transformers” films comes this new exciting new teen oriented time travel themed feature film “Almanac”. The Primetime Emmy Award nominated casting director who cast such hit films as “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” and the upcoming “The Lone Ranger” is auditioning actors for the starring and co-starring roles. The movies’ extras will be cast beginning in February, 2013 when principal photography begins. the shooting locations(s) have not yet been determined. Also, there has been no word on the film’s budget.

It’s a Laugh Productions has begun casting female teen series regulars for the new multi-camera Disney Channel series sequel “Girl Meets World”. The show will continue where the ABC television sitcomBoy Meets World” left off back in 2000, however the story jumps ahead to the present. That series ran successfully for seven years beginning in 1993. Auditions are taking place in Los Angeles and will continue through February, 2013 when shooting begins. The extras and stand-ins will be cast closer to the start of shooting in late January/February.

Arad Productions in association with Big Talk Productions are in the pre-production stages of the highly anticipated Marvel Studios action adventure sci-fi thriller feature film “Ant-Man”. Walt Disney Studios, the parent company of Marvel Enterprises, announced that the film has been greenlit. Filming is scheduled to start this January, 2012 for a November 6, 2015 release date. People’s Choice Award winning Canadian actor Nathan Fillion has been mentioned for the lead role of Hank Pym, also known as Ant Man. However, Fillion stated at the 2012 Hero Complex Film Fest, “did you ever just love Ant-Man? Not me”. Therefore is seems highly unlikely that the studio would pursue Pym after making a comment like that. The project will shoot at Pinewood Studios in England, and other locations around London and the United Kingdom.

Di Bonaventura Pictures and DreamWorks SKG in association with Hasbro are in development on the Paramount Pictures science fiction action film “Transformers 4“. The casting directors are auditioning actors for the new lead roles in the film, as neither Shia LaBeouf or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are returning. The female lead role is an 18 year old or above who can play high school senior age, and the male lead is an early twenties Texas race car driver who plays the female lead’s boyfriend. Shooting will take place in various locations beginning in April or May of 2013. This film is currently being referred to as “Untitled Transformers Sequel”.
