Warner Bros. Television in association with Bonanza Productions and Alloy Entertainment are in pre-production on a new series titled “The Originals”, which will be a spinoff from the hit CW series “The Vampire Diaries”. Casting directors in Los Angeles and New York are holding auditions for the series regulars, which include an over 18 actress who can play a 16 year old witch, an early 20′s female student who is intrigued by the deviance of the French Quarter, a late 20s early 30s female witch, and Klaus’ diabolical former protégé Marcel who is late 20s early 30s. Shooting begins March 6, 2013 and will take place in New Orleans and Atlanta.

Bad Hat Harry Productions, The Donners’ Company, and Marvel Studios are in pre-production on “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” the sequel to “X-Men: First Class” for 20th Century Fox Film Corporation. The start date for shooting was originally scheduled for January 2013, but has been pushed back to April 2013. Auditions for the film’s main stars will take place in Los Angeles, with additional principal actor casting in Montreal. The extras, photo-doubles, and stand-ins will be hired in Montreal throughout shooting. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 18, 2014.

Mandate Pictures and Four Fellas Productions in association with Laurence Mark Productions and Good Universe are in production on the comedy feature film “Last Vegas”, shooting in Atlanta, GA. The local casting directors are seeking a large number of extras to work on the film in December. In addition to the extras being cast, there are also roles for featured players at a higher pay rate. Principal actor casting took place in Los Angeles, with additional speaking roles being cast in Atlanta. Filming will continue through December 22, 2012. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on December 20, 2013.

From the producer and director of “Pearl Harbor” and the “Transformers” films comes this new exciting new teen oriented time travel themed feature film “Almanac”. The Primetime Emmy Award nominated casting director who cast such hit films as “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” and the upcoming “The Lone Ranger” is auditioning actors for the starring and co-starring roles. The movies’ extras will be cast beginning in February, 2013 when principal photography begins. the shooting locations(s) have not yet been determined. Also, there has been no word on the film’s budget.

Extras will be cast throughout production which begins in November, 2012. Roles for teachers, parents, and students are being cast in Los Angeles, with some additional casting done in New York. Di Bonaventura Pictures and DreamWorks SKG in association with Hasbro are in development on the Paramount Pictures science fiction action film “Transformers 4“. The casting directors are auditioning actors for the new lead roles in the film, as neither Shia LaBeouf or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are returning. The female lead role is an 18 year old or above who can play high school senior age, and the male lead is an early twenties Texas race car driver who plays the female lead’s boyfriend. Shooting will take place in various locations beginning in April or May of 2013. This film is currently being referred to as “Untitled Transformers Sequel”.

The Millennium Films action thriller feature film “Homefront” is in production in Louisiana, and casting for day player speaking roles and extras will be ongoing through November 21, 2012. The movie, written and produced by Sylvester Stallone, is based on author Chuck Logan‘s crime drama series of novels featuring the character Phil Broker. Filming is taking place in New Orleans, the Westbank suburban area of New Orleans, Thibodaux, among other locations in Louisiana. Fox 21 and 3 Arts Entertainment are getting ready to begin shooting the new one-hour series pilot episode of “The Witches of East End” for Lifetime Television, and auditions are underway in Los Angeles, New York, and Wilmington, North Carolina.
