ABC has launched the first ever digital talent outreach contest in the United States, where actors and comedians can submit a video of their acting or stand-up comedy performance for a chance to be seen by ABC Casting executives. The contest is called “ABC Make Me a Star,” and will consist of two components. One is a private competition where ABC will select the winner, and the other will be a publicly voted competition where the public votes for the winner out of ten finalists chosen by ABC.

The hit FX Network Golden Globe Nominated horror-drama series American Horror Story has been renewed for a third season and the award winning casting team is now holding auditions for new series regulars and guest stars. The show’s format is anthology based, whereas the story, characters, and location for each season is different. The show’s guest stars and extras will be cast throughout the season. After two seasons shooting in Los Angeles, the series moves to The Big Easy for it’s third season. Filming begins in July, 2013 in New Orleans, LA.

Sony Pictures Television in association with Gran Via Productions and Nemo Films are in pre-production on a new one-hour drama series pilot titled “Wild Blue”. The show’s casting directors in Los Angeles and New York are holding auditions for series regulars, with additional auditions to take place as soon as the regulars are cast. The stand-ins and background extras will be cast throughout shooting on the series pilot episode, which begins mid-March, 2013 in Los Angeles. There will be a very large number of people hired to play Navy personnel on the show.

Television in association with Bonanza Productions and Alloy Entertainment are in pre-production on a new series titled “The Originals”, which will be a spinoff from the hit CW series “The Vampire Diaries”. Casting directors in Los Angeles and New York are holding auditions for the series regulars, which include an over 18 actress who can play a 16 year old witch, an early 20′s female student who is intrigued by the deviance of the French Quarter, a late 20s early 30s female witch, and Klaus’ diabolical former protégé Marcel who is late 20s early 30s. Shooting begins March 6, 2013 and will take place in New Orleans and Atlanta.

Cloud Ten Productions in association with Stoney Lake Entertainment and Family Screen Partners are in pre-production on the upcoming major epic action thriller feature film “Left Behind” based on the best-selling novel “Left Behind: A Novel of the Earth’s Last Days” by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. Casting is underway in Los Angeles for the film’s starring and co-starring roles. Additional principal actor roles will be cast in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where shooting will take place beginning in March, 2013. The stand-ins and photo-doubles for the film’s stars, as well as featured and general background actors, will also be cast in Baton Rouge.

Auditions are ongoing for co-starring, guest-starring, and day player roles. Extras are also being cast throughout the 15 episode season. The series takes place in Texas, however shooting is done in Van Nuys, CA at Calvert Studios and various locations around Los Angeles. “The Client List” is based on the 2010 television film of the same name that premiered on Lifetime Network July 19, 2010.

From the Academy Award winning producers of three Harry Potter films comes the upcoming epic feature film “Christ The Lord,” based on the best-selling novel “Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt” by Anne Rice. The casting directors are accepting online self-taped video auditions from boys ages 7-10 to play the starring role of Jesus as a child. Filming begins on March 6, 2013 and will continue through the end of May, 2013. There will also be 2-4 weeks paid rehearsal prior to filming. The shoot will take place in Rome and Matera, Italy. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for the person chosen.

It’s a Laugh Productions has begun casting female teen series regulars for the new multi-camera Disney Channel series sequel “Girl Meets World”. The show will continue where the ABC television sitcomBoy Meets World” left off back in 2000, however the story jumps ahead to the present. That series ran successfully for seven years beginning in 1993. Auditions are taking place in Los Angeles and will continue through February, 2013 when shooting begins. The extras and stand-ins will be cast closer to the start of shooting in late January/February.

Paramount Pictures begins casting new lead roles for ‘Transformers 4′

Di Bonaventura Pictures and DreamWorks SKG in association with Hasbro are in development on the Paramount Pictures science fiction action film “Transformers 4“. The casting directors are auditioning actors for the new lead roles in the film, as neither Shia LaBeouf or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are returning. The female lead role is an 18 year old or above who can play high school senior age, and the male lead is an early twenties Texas race car driver who plays the female lead’s boyfriend. Shooting will take place in various locations beginning in April or May of 2013. This film is currently being referred to as “Untitled Transformers Sequel”.
