Roth Films in association with Mayhem Pictures is getting ready to start production on the Walt Disney Pictures true-story live-action feature film “Million Dollar Arm,” about a sports agent who discovered baseball pitchers amongst cricket players in India by staging a reality show to discover new talent. The Primetime Emmy award winning Disney casting veteran has issued a nationwide casting call for lead roles in the film. Also being cast are supporting, and smaller speaking roles. Filming gets underway May 6, 2013 and will take place in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and in India.

The Disney casting directors are casting starring roles including a boy and girl who can play 10-11 years of age, and a naturally beautiful teen girl who can play 16-17 years of age. Shooting on the project will take place in Vancouver, British Columbia starting this Summer, 2013. Auditions are taking place in Los Angeles, New York, and Vancouver. All photo-doubles and stand-ins for the film’s stars will be hired in Vancouver, as well as all of the extras.

Mandate Pictures and Four Fellas Productions in association with Laurence Mark Productions and Good Universe are in production on the comedy feature film “Last Vegas”, shooting in Atlanta, GA. The local casting directors are seeking a large number of extras to work on the film in December. In addition to the extras being cast, there are also roles for featured players at a higher pay rate. Principal actor casting took place in Los Angeles, with additional speaking roles being cast in Atlanta. Filming will continue through December 22, 2012. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on December 20, 2013.

Page Four Productions is in pre-production on the independent feature film “The Return of Captain Nemo” and casting for the films starring and co-starring roles will be taking place in London. Additional principal actor casting and all extras casting will take place in Bucharest, Romania where filming will take place beginning January 16, 2012. This film is not to be confused with the big budget Walt Disney Pictures or 20th Century Fox adaptation of the book by Jules Verne.

The true story behind the 1964 Walt Disney Productions musical film Mary Poppins is being made into a modern behind-the-scenes movie titled “Saving Mr. Banks”. Walt Disney Pictures will begin shooting September, 2012 in Los Angeles and Maryborough, Queensland, Australia. Casting for starring and supporting roles is underway. One very coveted role will be the child actor who plays Mary Poppins author P.L. Travers at 7 years old. Auditions are taking place in Los Angeles, with additional casting in Queensland, Australia. The film’s extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins will be cast in both Los Angeles and Australia.

It’s that time of year again for Disney Channel and Disney XD to hold the first official open casting call of 2012, this one in Kansas City, Missouri. Casting directors are seeking boys and girls between the ages of 10 – 18 (or who look like they are 10 – 18) and are interested in acting, dancing, or singing. Walt Disney Pictures and Roth Films are in pre-production on the live-action feature film “Maleficent”, which explores the origins of the evil fairy godmother and what led her to curse Princess Aurora in Disney’s animated classic “Sleeping Beauty“. The casting directors in Los Angeles and London are holding auditions for starring, co-starring, and supporting roles. Shooting will take place in Los Angeles and London beginning June 11, 2012 and will continue through November 4, 2012. “Maleficent” is set to hit theaters on March 14, 2014.
