Village Roadshow Pictures and Flynn Picture Company in association with Vinson Films are in pre-production on the New Line Cinema action-adventure disaster feature film “San Andreas: 3D”. Auditions for lead and supporting roles will be taking place in Los Angeles, CA where filming is set to get underway in April, 2014. The stand-ins for the film’s starring actors will be cast closer to the start of shooting. The extras will be cast throughout production in Los Angeles and other various locations in California. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 5, 2015 and will be released in 2D and 3D. This project has been in development since 2011.

On October 29, 2013, AMC officially renewed the Golden Globe Award nominated horror drama series “The Walking Dead for a fifth season. Darkwoods Productions, Circle of Confusion and Valhalla Entertainment will begin production on season five in early 2014. The show’s casting directors in Los Angeles and Atlanta will begin holding auditions. Actors may be considered as long as they are eligible to work in Atlanta and in the United States. Shooting takes place in the state of Georgia. The extras and stand-ins are cast throughout the entire season on a daily basis as needed. The series is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.
Lucasfilm, an owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, in association with Bad Robot Productions, Genre Films, and Kasdan Pictures are in pre-production on the highly anticipated epic feature film “Star Wars: Episode VII”. Despite the recent change in writers, shooting will still commence on January 21, 2014. Casting calls have been issued and auditions are taking place for starring and co-starring roles. The primary filming locations will be at Pinewood Studios in the UK, with additional shooting in New Mexico, and in Los Angeles. J.J. Abrams has constructed production facilities at his Bad Robot Santa Monica headquarters specifically for Star Wars: Episode VII. The extras will be cast throughout production in London and New Mexico. Film crew resumes can be submitted via email to the production office.
With the announcement that Academy Award nominee Josh Brolin is in negotiations for a lead role in “Jurassic World”, casting is now officially in high gear. Ebb Tide Films and Amblin Entertainment are in pre-production on the fourth installment of the Universal Pictures extremely popular and successful science fiction adventure Jurassic Park film series. Current casting is taking place in Los Angeles, however there will be additional casting in the filming locations of Baton Rouge, LA and also in Hawaii. Interior shots will be filmed in sound stages at Raleigh Studios in Baton Rouge, while exterior filming will take place on the island of Kauai in Hawaii.
Imagine Entertainment and Teakwood Lane Productions are currently in pre-production on the new 20th Century Fox TV series “24: Live Another Day”, which is a 12-episode run based on the mega-hit Fox network and worldwide syndicated political spy action thriller series “24” which spanned 192 episodes over eight seasons, and pulled in countless awards including 68 Emmy nominations, with 20 wins. The casting directors for “24: Live Another Day” are auditioning actors for lead roles, supporting roles, and recurring roles in Los Angeles. The show will be set in London, UK and will be filmed there for this limited first-run season. The extras will be cast in London.
It’s a Laugh Productions and Horizon Productions are getting ready to begin production on a new comedy sitcom for Disney XD called “Kirby Buckets”. The Casting Society of America Artios Award nominated casting team of Sally Stiner and Barbie Block, who have cast such Disney Channel hit shows as “Jonas” and “Good Luck Charlie”, are casting young teen actors and adults for series regulars, co-stars, and smaller day player roles. The extras will be hired throughout shooting on the pilot episode, with there likely being a need for many over-18 to play high school age.
Syncopy and Atlas Entertainment in association with DC Entertainment and Batfilm Productions are now in pre-production on the Warner Bros. Pictures action adventure sci-fi feature film “Man of Steel 2”. This is the current working title of the film. Two tentative titles for the new film were suggested by the writer – “Batman vs. Superman” or “Superman vs. Batman”. Studio-level casting is underway for the lead roles in the film. Additional casting will take place at a later date with an independent contracted casting director. The stand-ins for the lead actors, as well as general extras and featured background actors will be cast throughout production in the locations where filming will take place.
Hi’Lawe Productions and Scott Rudin Productions in association with Vinyl Films are set to begin production on the Sony Pictures romance adventure feature film formerly titled “Deep Tiki”. The project is now going by the working titles of “Untitled Cameron Crowe Project” or “Untitled Hawaii”. In addition to the principal actor casting taking place in Los Angeles, an open casting call has been scheduled in Honolulu, Hawaii for people interested in working as fully paid extras and possibly featured background actors.
Dead Fish Films and Parlay Pictures are in pre-production on the true story baseball themed independent feature film “Undrafted” starring Chace Crawford. The project is a talent-laden production from top to bottom. The film’s casting directors are accepting audition videos from Los Angeles based talent for starring roles in the film. Both SAG-AFTRA and non-union talent are welcome to submit. An official “Undrafted” casting website has been set up for actors to download the audition sides and then upload a homemade video for consideration.
Fox 2000 and Temple Hill Productions are in pre-production on the feature film “The Fault in Our Stars”, and the production has sent out a casting call for teens and young adults between 13 and 23 years old who have been affected by cancer, to appear in the film as background performers. The casting director has specified that there is no experience is necessary and these are fully paid positions. They are also looking for a girl who can play actress Shailene Woodley at 11 years old. Shooting will run from August 26, 2013 through October 8, 2013 in Pittsburgh.
