ABC has launched the first ever digital talent outreach contest in the United States, where actors and comedians can submit a video of their acting or stand-up comedy performance for a chance to be seen by ABC Casting executives. The contest is called “ABC Make Me a Star,” and will consist of two components. One is a private competition where ABC will select the winner, and the other will be a publicly voted competition where the public votes for the winner out of ten finalists chosen by ABC.

Kapital Entertainment is prepping to begin production on a new 1/2 hour comedy series pilot for ABC titled “Pulling“. Shooting on the single-camera show will get underway mid-March at the ABC Studios in Los Angeles. Casting directors in both Los Angeles and New York are auditioning actors for series regulars, guest starring, possible recurring, and under-5 roles. The extras casting director will hire background performers throughout production. “Pulling” is based on the hugely popular British sitcom of the same name.

Ryan Seacrest Productions is in pre-production on a new 1/2 hour single-camera comedy series pilot for ABC titled “Mixology,” and the casting directors are holding auditions for the series regulars. Guest starring and possible recurring roles will be cast as soon as the regulars are cast. In addition to the principal actors, stand-ins will be hired prior to the start of shooting on March 18, 2013. The background extras will be cast throughout filming on the pilot episode, taking place in Los Angeles.
Bandwagon Entertainment has been given a series pilot order by Disney Channel for a new sitcom titled “I Didn’t Do it”. Auditions are underway for the series regulars and possible recurring roles. Extras and stand-ins will be hired starting early January, 2013 when shooting begins in Los Angeles. There are many roles for actors to play high school students, especially needed will be extras who are 18 and over who can play younger. The 1/2 hour show centers around a pair of fourteen year old fraternal twins and their dubious tales, with stories told in reverse menology.
The new ABC musical drama television series “Nashville” is in production and casting directors in Los Angeles and Tennessee are auditioning talent for guest starring and recurring roles. The larger roles are cast in Los Angeles, with additional casting for smaller roles in Tennessee. The extras casting director in Nashville is hiring people throughout season one, which continues shooting through December 10, 2012. All ages and types of people are needed for fully paid background work, and no prior experience working as an extra is required.
The popular ABCsingle-cameracomedy series “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23” has been renewed for a second season by the network and the show’s casting directors are auditioning actors for recurring, guest starring, and day player roles. Extras are also being hired throughout the season into late Fall, 2012. The show premiered with the title of “Apartment 23“, however ABC eventually renamed it to the original title in October, 2011. The season premiere of “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23” airs October 23, 2012.
The hit ABC single-camera comedy series “Suburgatory” is in production on it’s second season and the principal actor casting directors are auditioning talent for new starring, recurring, guest starring, and day player roles. Television and Piece of Pie Productions The second season will premiere on Wednesday October 17, 2012 on ABC. Although the show’s setting is in New York, filming takes place in Los Angeles.
