On October 29, 2013, AMC officially renewed the Golden Globe Award nominated horror drama series “The Walking Dead for a fifth season. Darkwoods Productions, Circle of Confusion and Valhalla Entertainment will begin production on season five in early 2014. The show’s casting directors in Los Angeles and Atlanta will begin holding auditions. Actors may be considered as long as they are eligible to work in Atlanta and in the United States. Shooting takes place in the state of Georgia. The extras and stand-ins are cast throughout the entire season on a daily basis as needed. The series is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels will reprise their roles as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne in “Dumb and Dumber To”.
Conundrum Entertainment and Red Granite Pictures are now officially in pre-production on the Universal Pictures comedy feature film “Dumb and Dumber To”, the sequel to the 1994 hit buddy-comedy movie “Dumb and Dumber”. Casting for co-starring, supporting, and day player roles will be taking place in Los Angeles. The extras will be cast in Atlanta, GA where shooting is scheduled to commence in September, 2013.

Bluegrass Films and Harlan Films in association with Nick Wechsler Productions and The Combine are getting set to begin shooting the Focus Features true-story drama feature film “Kill The Messenger”, which is based on Pulitzer prize-winning investigative journalist Gary Webb’s series of articles. The principal actor casting directors are busy auditioning talent for many speaking roles, and now the extras casting director has issued a large casting call for all types of people interested in working on the film as fully paid background performers. Filming will take place beginning mid-July in Atlanta, GA.

Alloy Entertainment and Bonanza Productions have begun production on the fifth season of the hit CW supernatural drama series “The Vampire Diaries”, which has been given a full 22 episode order. Roth Films in association with Mayhem Pictures is now in production on the Walt Disney Pictures true-story live-action feature film “Million Dollar Arm,” about a sports agent who discovered baseball pitchers amongst cricket players in India by staging a reality show to discover new talent. The casting team is holding an open casting call in Atlanta, GA for all types of people to work as fully paid background performers. The Atlanta portion of filming will begin in June, 2013. Filming has previously taken place in Mumbai, India.

The hit Lifetime Television series “Drop Dead Diva” has been officially brought back to life for a fifth season after being cancelled on January 15, 2013. There was a tremendous outcry from the show’s fans, and showrunner Josh Berman credits the fans for the return of the comedy-drama television series. Lifetime signed a deal on March 1, 2013 with Sony Pictures Television that made the show economically viable not only for Season 5 but for seasons beyond. Now the casting director has scheduled open casting calls for talent in the metro Atlanta area to appear on the show as general background performers. Principal actor casting is also underway and is being done in Atlanta.
New Line Cinema and S&K Pictures in association with Big Kid Pictures are in pre-production on a new sequel in the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” franchise. This new film will begin shooting June 17, 2013 in New Mexico and Atlanta, GA. The Primetime Emmy award winning casting director is conducting a national talent search for young talent for several lead roles in the film. Being cast are two boys between 9-15 years of age to play the Griswold boys, Ed Helms‘ kids. Also being cast is a pretty teen girl between the ages of 13-17. Self-taped video auditions will be accepted for talent outside of Los Angeles. The extras will be cast throughout filming in Atlanta and New Mexico.

Sony Pictures Television and Pariah Entertainment Group are set to begin production on the new television series pilot “Zombieland” in Atlanta, Georgia. The extras casting director is holding an open casting call for local people 18 years of age and older to work as general and possible featured background performers on the film. Shooting begins on February 25, 2013. The series is a continuation of the 2009 American zombie comedy film of the same name starring Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin. “Zombieland” is also accepting resumes from experienced production staff and television crew members.
Apatow Productions and Gary Sanchez Productions are in pre-production on the feature film sequel “Anchorman: The Legend Continues” for Paramount Pictures. The casting director is holding auditions in Los Angeles for principal acting roles, and additional casting for smaller speaking roles will be cast in Atlanta, GA. Filming will take place there from March 4, 2013 through May 17, 2013. The local extras casting team is also hiring stand-ins for the films stars, as well as taking email submissions for general and featured background extras.
Hyde Park Entertainment and Troika Pictures in association with Merced Media Partners are in pre-production on the thriller feature film “Careful What You Wish For”, which will begin shooting April 8, 2013 in North Carolina. Filming will also take place in Atlanta. Casting directors in Los Angeles are holding auditions for the films starring, co-starring, and supporting roles. There will be additional speaking roles cast in North Carolina and Atlanta, as well as the film’s stand-ins, photo-doubles, and extras.
