Hi’Lawe Productions and Scott Rudin Productions in association with Vinyl Films are set to begin production on the Sony Pictures romance adventure feature film formerly titled “Deep Tiki”. The project is now going by the working titles of “Untitled Cameron Crowe Project” or “Untitled Hawaii”. In addition to the principal actor casting taking place in Los Angeles, an open casting call has been scheduled in Honolulu, Hawaii for people interested in working as fully paid extras and possibly featured background actors.
Atlas Entertainment and Annapurna Pictures are set to begin shooting a major feature film in Boston, MA and New York City for Columbia Pictures. Casting directors in Los Angeles and New York are casting the film’s supporting roles. Smaller speaking roles are being cast in Boston and New York, where shooting will take place from March 18, 2013 through May 19, 2013. The project is currently using the working title of “Untitled David O. Russell/Abscam Project”. Extras will be cast throughout production. Experienced film crew and production staff in Boston can also email resumes to the production office.
Bad Hat Harry Productions, The Donners’ Company, and Marvel Studios are in pre-production on “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” the sequel to “X-Men: First Class” for 20th Century Fox Film Corporation. The start date for shooting was originally scheduled for January 2013, but has been pushed back to April 2013. Auditions for the film’s main stars will take place in Los Angeles, with additional principal actor casting in Montreal. The extras, photo-doubles, and stand-ins will be hired in Montreal throughout shooting. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 18, 2014.
The second film in a super-popular trilogy, “Catching Fire”, is now in pre-production and casting calls for the film’s extras have now gone out. Casting has been underway in Los Angeles for new co-starring and supporting roles. The day players, extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins will be hired in the Atlanta, GA area where shooting take place. Top industry veteran casting director Bill Marinella has been contracted to cast all of the movie’s extras, and an open casting call has been scheduled in the Atlanta, GA area. The second film in a super-popular trilogy, “Artemis 2”, is gearing up for pre-production and casting will soon be underway in Los Angeles for new co-starring and supporting roles. The day players, extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins will be hired in the Wilmington, North Carolina area as the beginning of filming approaches. The studio is fast tracking this project because Jennifer Lawrence has a contract commitment with 20th Century Fox for a sequel to “X-Men: First Class” which starts shooting in January 2013. Filming on “Artemis 2” will begin in August, 2012. “Artemis” took 4-1/2 months to complete principal photography.
Jennifer Lawrence is committed to filming “Untitled X-Men Sequel” in January, 2012.
The next film in The Hunger Games trilogy, “Catching Fire“, will begin filming in North Carolina this coming Fall, 2012 with new director Francis Lawrence. Four-time Academy Award nominee Gary Ross announced that he will not be returning to direct Catching Fire, and there is a good chance that a different casting director will also be hired. It is most often the director who chooses the casting director, and three-time Casting Society of America Artios Award winner Debra Zane has cast every film that Gary Ross has directed or produced since 1998 including “Pleasantville”, “Seabiscuit”, and “The Tale of Despereaux“. Zane would likely cast Ross’ next project instead of “Catching Fire”.
