Alcon Entertainment and Syncopy in association with Evolutionary Pictures and Straight Up Films are in production on the epic Warner Bros. Pictures sci-fi thriller feature film “Transcendence” starring Johnny Depp. Shooting will take place in New Mexico beginning mid-July. Two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner and four-time Casting Society of America Artios Award winner John Papsidera has cast the film’s starring and co-starring roles in Los Angeles. Now the extras casting director has issued a casting call for all ages and types in New Mexico.

The Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures action Western film “Lone Ranger” is now filming in the Los Angeles area, after completing principal photography in New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah. The extras casting director is seeking Mexican and Native American Women, Children, and elderly Men to work on the film as fully paid featured background performers. The scenes to be filmed will recreate an 1800’s Comanche village. The exact shooting dates have not been determined yet, but are highly likely to be in mid-late September, 2012.

Open casting calls are scheduled for March and April, 2012 in Colorado and Utah. New Mexico open casting calls have already taken place.

The Walt Disney Pictures has come to financial terms with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Gore Verbinski, Johnny Depp, and other key members of the cast and crew of “The Lone Ranger”. Changes include a reduction in the budget from $250 million to approximately $200 million. Filming will still take place in New Mexico, however some additional filming will be done in Utah instead of Texas. The film’s remaining supporting players are still being cast in Los Angeles, and smaller speaking roles, extras, stand-ins, and photo-doubles for the film’s stars are being cast in New Mexico and Utah.

On Friday August 12, 2011 Disney cancelled pre-production on “The Lone Ranger”. Budget limits with the director is being reported as the reason for the shutdown. The extras casting director for “The Lone Ranger”, Elizabeth Gabel, made the following statement to the Las Cruces Sun-News on Saturday August 13, 2011 – “I can confirm that ‘Silver Bullet’ (the working title for ‘The Lone Ranger’) has been shut down and the casting call has been canceled, at this time I do not have anymore details”.
