Summit Entertainment, the production company behind “The Twilight Saga” films, has acquired the rights to the youth-oriented “Ender’s Game” franchise. An open casting call has been scheduled seeking bright and talented kids and teens ages 10 – 17 of varying ethnic backgrounds. Talent must be located within reasonable driving distance of New Orleans, LA. The shoot is scheduled to run from February 2, 2012 through June 8, 2012. The casting directors are especially interested in home-schooled kids and teens due to the filming schedule during school hours. An on-set teacher is required to be provided by the production company for all minors, therefore it is not absolutely necessary to be home-schooled. Those who are selected will have the adventure of a lifetime and become part of science fiction cinema history!
The production company Kurtzman/Orci and Summit Entertainment will begin shooting the magician-heist thriller feature film “Now You See Me” in New Orleans and New York beginning January 16, 2012. The main roles are being cast in Los Angeles, and some supporting roles as well as day players are being cast in New Orleans. All of the film’s extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins for the films stars will be cast in Louisiana and New York.
Summit Entertainment is set to begin filming ‘I, Alex Cross‘ on August 8th in Cleveland, and then move to Detroit from September, 2011 through October 3rd, 2011. There will be an open casting call on July 23 in Cleveland for featured extras, general background extras, photo doubles, and stand ins for the film’s stars. The production is expected to hire more than 1,700 cast members and extras in the Cleveland area.
Summit Entertainment is currently working on the 4th installment of the hugely successful dance franchise that started with Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s “Step Up” in 2006. “Step Up 4” is scheduled to hit theaters in 2012, and the filmmakers are currently looking for dancers and two new faces to play the male and female lead roles in the new film.
The casting directors for the independent family feature film “Sweethearts N’ Angels” will be holding an open casting call on Saturday, April 16, 2011 for people interested in working on the film as background extras.
